CAD

I view CAD as one of the most powerful tools in an engineer's toolkit. I've been using it near daily since 2015 to bring my concepts from the whiteboard into 3D space, and ultimately to reality.
  • Solidworks
  • Autodesk Fusion 360
    • 6 years of experience in single-part modeling, assembly, simulation, drawings, and rendering.
    • Led design on five 1000+ part assemblies, comprising 3 robots for the Suffern Robotics Team and 2 robots for NEU’s NASA Mars Ice Team
    • Hosted two Autodesk Fusion training workshops for ASME
  • Familiar with Onshape, Autodesk Inventor, & AutoCAD

Software

  • Python
    • Programmed interpreter software for stepper dynamometer to run motor at target speed and process and plot torque data live during a targeted time interval. The resulting data is analyzed after the time period for max pull-out torque, and outputted to a .csv for further human analysis.
  • MATLAB – Simulink & Simscape
    • Programmed 2D inverse kinematics solver with Simulink PID torque control, using Simscape multibody to replicate inertial effects of linkages.
  • Arduino
    • Built and coded button-triggered light sensor to store and analyze lux contour map within room of specified dimensions. Once room is mapped, csv interfaces with Matlab script to score light uniformity and suggest improved lamp placements.
  • Robot Operating System (ROS)
    • Developed custom package to read in raw GPS data over serial, convert to zone, northing, and easting, and store into rosbag recordings.
  • TMCL
    • Created stepper auto-homing script that searches until flag sensor is triggered and stores the position as an absolute reference.

Manufacturing

  • 3D printing
    • 7 years of 3D printing experience; hosted ASME 3D printing workshop providing overview on designing for 3D printing, proper print slicing, and the differences between 3D printing methods.
  • CNC machining
    • Machinist on Robobrawl Combat robotics team; utilized a Tormach 1100 CNC Machined to manufacture chassis inversion fins.
  • Drilling, bandsaw, sanding, grinding
    • 7 years of experience manufacturing parts from CAD templates using common shop tools.
  • Electronics
    • Soldering and crimping to wire custom stepper dynamometer.

Leadership

I strive to inspire others as a leader in the engineering community. I have grown immensely as a leader and as an individual due to the following leadership experiences. I seek to learn from others just as much as I teach them.
  • ASME President (2023), Vice President of Workshops (2022), Internal Communications Officer (2021), Secretary (2020)
    • Mange Eboard of 15 to deliver weekly workshops, industry meetings, classes, and events to over 600 students
    • Wrote bi-weekly emails communicating ASME events and responding to subsequent inquiries
    • Created ASME Microsoft Teams channel, serving as platform for over 400 mechanical engineers to attend weekly workshops and industry events
  • NURobotics President (2021-22)
    • Revitalized and relaunched club after 11 months of dormancy to over 400 active members and 8 current team projects
    • Assembled and managed Executive Board of 11
  • Mechanical Lead of NASA Mars Ice Team (2020-22)
    • Managed mechanical subteam of 10 members, performing regular CAD training and design reviews
  • Solidworks Professional Instructor (2020-21)
    • Instructed over 100 students towards Solidworks Certifications, providing weekly class overviews and one-on-one troubleshooting
  • Captain of Suffern Robotics Team (2018-19)
    • Led team of 17 in daily after-school meetings, competitions, community STEM education, and business outreach events
  • President of Mu Alpha Theta (2018-19)
    • Managed eboard of 4 to develop monthly interactive and hands-on math lessons, delving into the math behind pi, the golden ratio/fibonnanci sequence, game show probability, and alternate number systems
  • President of Science Honor Society (2018-19)
    • Managed eboard of 5 to organize weekly educational live science demos for 50 members
