Hi! I'm Ethan, and I build robots. I'm also:
A student at Carnegie Mellon University, pursuing my Master of Science in Robotics advised by Professor David Wettergreen.
A passionate robot designer, with experience leading the development of 12 distinct robotic systems, 2x President of the Northeastern Robotics Club, and Design Lead on the $200,000 award-winning PARIS E-Robot.
A space enthusiast, as two-time co-op/intern at NASA JPL and previous Mechanical Lead in NASA’s Moon to Mars Ice & Prospecting Challenge, placing as Finalists in 2020, winning 2nd Overall and Best Technical Paper in 2021, and winning the 2022 RISE Expo.
A Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional, proficient in individual part modeling, master-sketched assemblies with hundreds of parts, professional engineering drawings, and static stress/thermal/topology optimization simulations.
An active engineer, fostering its community as ASME President, Vice President of Workshops, Communications Officer, Secretary, and SOLIDWORKS Professional Instructor, recognized via the 2021 James. D. Arangio Memorial Scholarship.
🎓 A previous undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student in the Northeastern University Honors program, minoring in Robotics, recognized with the Ferretti Academic Excellence Award
A previous Mechanical Engineer Co-op at a revolutionary robotics startup in the Silicon Valley, who solo-designed a custom 350-component 5-axis universal manipulation robot through brainstorming, prototyping, design, simulation, and drafting.
Mechanical Design is my Specialty.
I bring robots to life by leading my teams through an iterative engineering design process.
Rapid brainstorming, prototyping, and iterating are essential to producing the best result as efficiently as possible.
I map out every robot to the single screw. This enables me to minimize collision errors, validate weight, and simulate performance.
